Lecture: Ocean Blues

Torsdag 1 oktober kl. 18.00-19.00 / Läs mer >

Would there really be more plastic in the ocean than fish by 2050? Plastics are materials that solve many problems and have allowed societies to take huge technological leaps. Unfortunately, the way we produce and use plastics is not sustainable. Understanding the problem with plastics and putting issues into perspective will help us work with solutions in our daily life and at a larger scale. There is so much that we and others can do to reduce marine plastic pollution!

Welcome to a lecture about plastic in the ocean with Grazzia Matamoros, educational facilitator for the project “Ocean Blues: from anxiety to action” at the University of Gothenburg (GU). Ocean Blues links high school students in West Sweden with researchers from GU. The goal of the project is to turn concerns about the marine environmental problems into action.

The lecture will be held in the lecture hall at the museum.
