Fishes, echinoderms, amphibians, reptiles – and more

collage of sharks, fish and other objects from the museum of natural history

Here you will find sharks and fishes from Sweden and the rest of the world, Smiley the alligator, giant tortoise and many other species.

Evolutionary development is a main theme throughout the exhibition, starting with starfish and echinoderms – which are in fact closely related to us vertebrates – to a coelacanth and the first four-legged animals: amphibians.

In the exhibition you can learn more about the history of evolutionary research; from Carl von Linné and Darwin to modern genetic research by Kerstin Johannesson and the Swedish Nobel Prize Laureate Svante Pääbo.

Small visitors will also find great things here: a new childrens track! Our beloved mascot Mullward has exciting things to show all curious children.
