History of Life on Earth and Amazing Diversity In this section of the museum’s permanent exhibitions we tell you the story of the history of Earth and the evolutionary history of life on Earth beginning 3.8 billion years ago and stretching until the present day. Welcome to this evolutionary journey and meet fossils, insects, butterflies, blackfish and dinosaur skeletons.
The Birds Galleries The museum’s Birds Galleries have birds from all over the world. There is a lot to discover here - everything from the world’s largest bird, the ostrich, down to the smallest one, the humming bird.
Fish and Reptiles In the Fish Hallway you can see more than just models of various kinds of fish from all parts of the world. You will also pass sea stars and other echinoderms, as well as tailless amphibians, snakes, lizards, crocodiles and turtles.
The Mammals Gallery In the Mammals Gallery you can explore the rich diversity of mammals living on land, from the enormous African elephant to the diminutive pygmy shrew.
The Whale Hall OBS! The Whale Hall will close for renovation on March 2nd 2020, and open again in 2021.
Dioramas By visiting our dioramas you will get a unique momentary view of some familiar Swedish natural landscapes which were richly populated by animals in the past. They have all been carefully recreated. Building peepshows took ten years and any amount of patience to do it correctly.
